STEM privacy, permissions and data control

Understand who can access STEM memories, what connected assistants receive, how files are shared, and how export and deletion work.

STEM is memory software operated by Awase LLC. It stores the context you choose to keep and makes it available through connections you authorize. This product summary helps you evaluate STEM; the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service contain the full policies for Awase services.

Account-scoped memory

Connected assistants use an authorized STEM account. They can invoke the tools available to that connection under your granted access; a source label such as “Claude” or “ChatGPT” is attribution, not a separate permission boundary. Connect both clients to the same account when you want shared context. Authorize only assistants you want to be able to use that account's memories.

The privacy policy describes isolated, per-user storage on Cloudflare infrastructure and says STEM memories are not used for model training or advertising. Information recalled into another assistant is also handled under that provider's policies. STEM cannot erase a copy already delivered into a conversation.

An explicit save uses remember. Optional automatic saving is a separate, per-connection choice. The agent must first check memory_status; only a current automaticSavingAllowed: true allows the conditional automatic-save tool, subject to host confirmations and your instructions. It is best effort, not recording of all messages or other chats.

Turning automatic saving off stops future automatic writes for that connection. It does not delete existing memories or revoke all access. Use the relevant connection controls to revoke access. Do not put passwords, access tokens or secrets in memories.

Uploaded files have separate sharing controls

Eligible plans support private uploaded files, photos, audio and video. Uploading alone does not grant connected assistants access or send the content to AI providers. You may explicitly create an expiring sharing link and revoke it. Anyone holding a valid link can access that item, including someone the link is forwarded to. Revocation or expiry stops new access; it cannot recall downloaded copies or transfers already in progress.

Export and deletion

Memory export is included on every plan, including when storage is full. Read the client formats and export limits. The memory export does not contain provider chat histories or uploaded media files.

Deleting an account is destructive and applies to the shared Awase account, including associated account data in other Awase products. The privacy policy describes retained legal/security records and asynchronous cleanup of uploaded content. Cancel any separate store subscription through its provider as needed. Follow the full account-deletion instructions before proceeding.

Contact and product identity

STEM is the memory product. Awase LLC also operates other offerings; connecting STEM or buying its storage does not buy energy services, advertising or campaign management. Product and privacy questions go to support@awase.dev.
